We all come into this world with our unique gifts that have been Divinely given to us.  Some people are lucky enough to remain connected to these gifts while others shut them down until they’re ready to awaken them again. For me, reading people energetically has always been something that comes naturally to me; however, I haven’t always known that that’s what I was doing.  I was often told that I was being judgmental in my assessments of others while, in reality, I was reading their energy and getting a very clear idea of who they are and how they were feeling rather instantaneously.  Now, this gift serves me well in my work, but in the past, because I was criticized for it, I second-guessed myself and criticized myself for “being judgmental” instead of recognizing that I was simply reading others and speaking the truth of what I was picking up.

A Divine gift is just that “a gift.”  If you don’t use it, you’re pretty much returning it to the giver and saying “No, thanks!”  Your gift is here to serve YOU and to help you CONTRIBUTE to others and to the world around you, but if you don’t use it, neither of these things is going to happen.

Why would anyone shut down a gift?  There are many reasons for this, and here are a few of them:

-  Being surrounded by family members and friends who don’t recognize or appreciate your gift, or who criticize and judge your gift

-  Being afraid of the power of your gift especially when you’re psychic or have visions

-  Not knowing what to do with your gift or how to manage it in the practical world

-  Not being ready for your gift

-  Being afraid of being different & just wanting to fit in and be like everyone else

Keeping a Divine gift shut down begins to feel like misalignment at some point, and especially now with the energies of 2012 ushering in a New World.  There’s a massive awakening on the planet, and more and more people are awakening AND embracing their gifts and building more meaningful businesses and lives around these gifts.

And this is really the missing piece for a lot of people…feeling like there’s something more to their life and to their existence.  This is often a nudge that the world needs YOU and YOUR GIFT NOW.  If you’ve been tapped on the shoulder, your time has come, and this may result in the following:

-  A job loss

-  The dissolution of a relationship (i.e. a divorce or breakup)

-  A move from one city or country to another

-  A loss of interest in old ways of doing things

-  A hunger to learn more about specific topics

-  Seeking answers to your questions

-  Looking for more meaning in your life

and the list goes on…

It doesn’t matter how the change shows up for you.  What matters is that you ALLOW the change and understand it for what it is regardless of how difficult and/or painful it is.
